1 and 3 are good. do a bit more blending with 3 and it will be nice. I really like 1 just because of how abstract it is.

Def need to put some refining into 2.

good first trys! Smile

It's just me, I don't like that particular background texture. Also, I don't think it works well in trying for the Bond-gun-barrel effect. There used to be a swirl effect in gimp that approximated a gun barrel, but it's been years since I worked in gimp, so I don't know if it's still there. You could try a little creative borrowing on a Bond-gun-barrel image with the freehand edit tool. clip it, add your own central image, and smooth it out. The more you work at graphics, the better you'll get, so keep at it!

Your text doesnt fit. The color is off and the font is off. That is one of the hardest things to learn. I still haven't leanred to make my text blend XP. Might I suggest going -->here. All downloads are free. Practice more with your cropping. in the second sig the render looks a little bumpy. Might I suggest visiting -->Deviant Art. They have a lot of good tutorials. Just search Gimp Sig Tutorials. Pick different backgrounds go with your renders besides colors. Use stock photos of cities deserts the sky anything that will fit with your render. Keep practicing and you will get better.

I'll give my two cents.....very good for just beginning, much better than I ever was, but like they said, you have some blending issues. Your text doesn't fit in the sig, try using multiple layers of text, I actually have text tut you can try out some time if you want to, its in the old sig section. Also, try adding characters from other images into a blank background instead of forming the sig around what already exists. Planet Renders is a good site to register on, you can just search the render you want, save it, and just copy and paste it onto your background of choice. Its an easy method that saves allot of time. Again, you are doing really well for someone just starting, I'm impressed.

Making your renders imo is the easiest part of the whole process. It just takes time if you want the render to look good, which you should.

Learning to render is important. If I may suggest a super long super tedious method. Erase the background from the render then use a gentle blur on it's edges. That is how I render anything.

Okay, so, here we go:

As a beginner, you started out decently. You should learn how to blend better. Tutorials can teach you how to do so very easily. The colors of your signature are fairly decent, but try to mix it up some. You should try to use Gradients, they will be your best friend, but mix different ones together to find a good composition of color in your backgrounds especially. Use different layers to apply different effects and your render. On the topic of renders: They should be ONLY a person, car, animal, etc. It should not be a full part of a picture. On the topic of backgrounds: They should be something that will fit with your render. Don't just put a single color for your backgrounds, try to find some off of different sites. (I'll link you to some sites at the end of this where you can find different resources) Last, and most likely the hardest thing for someone new, your text is very bad. As a start, its alright, but you need to find a text that is easily read and put in a position that is easy to see, but also doesn't draw attention away from your render. All of this will take time, so just experiment with different techniques and look for tutorials. Good Luck!

I only suggested Planet Renders because its truthfully easier than just doing it yourself, but if you really want to get anywhere with sigs you are going to have to choose one or the other, even if both options are distastefull.....but if you are just looking to do this causually atm, then I wouldn't even bother with renders until you've solved your text and blending problems, I was just trying to give you a helpful suggestion :/
