Re: Tips for sniping
frang wrote:That was poetic license, I usually roll a 'nade between your feet or shoot you in the head. But hey, you asked for advice for snipers, so here goes.
1. Move to another location after making a sniper kill, because the guy who killed you probably knows where you are and is coming for you.
2. Shoot a little as a sniper, switch back to blaster for a while, then switch back again to sniper. Mix it up. The guys who do that are harder to kill.
3. Try to kill ppl coming toward you or going away from you. Tracking shots on ppl passing through your scope's field of view are harder to make.
4. Shoot from unusual locations.
5. Make use of cover, especially boxes or plants.
6. Don't jump into the low planters on the sides of the bridge in Garden, cuz you can't get out of them. I can't tell you how many times I've 'naded guys in those planters.
That's all. Good luck.
Nice frang. *nades frang in the planter* I just had to.

....
The best and the worst sniping places can be debatable...frang wrote:Almost forgot, the best maps for snipers are:
lockdown
garden
ghostship (the big central room)
hangar
The worst maps for snipers:
depot (duh)
gunship
engine room
Lastly, if we ever run mod maps on the server, lobby for timberlands (a port from Halo) and Daygarden. Those are great for snipers. Also, a couple of Dark Lord's huge maps are good for snipers, the sub base and the space station come to mind.
It all depends on the sniper himself/herself some who are good at sniping at far away distances like garden, lockdown, etc
Close up snipers like engine, depot, gunship, and any others...
It all depends on the sniper

Bah. Bonethug was so good with a shottie, he could kill you from across the map. Elite players make their own rules. The rest of us take advice when it's offered.
