Here are some great movies

well here are some of the movies i have watched and liked(more then the ones i don't like):
lord of the rings: all 3 of them are very good(i have the extended versions and the 'how they made the movie things' of all 3 of them)
star wars(duh or i would not be on this forum)
the kings speech
the matrix(but of coarse you've already seen the matrix unless you've been living under a rock all your life)
black hawk down
apocalypse now
the illusionist
unstoppable
wall street money never sleeps(kinda boring and stock market stuff but its very well made and good actors and all that)
shelock holmes
killers
conviction(not my favorite movie but not bad)
peaceful warrior
hareld and kumar go to white castle
hareld and kumar escape from Guantanamo bay
if i think of some more i'll post them later Prepare for Combat

let me just say all the M. Night Shamaylan movies are great.
The sixth sense: better then any horror movie ive seen and its not even considered horror
Signs: great alien movie
Unbreakable: kinda weird but good
The Village: great movie
Lady in the Water: good but not as good as the others
check them out if u havent already seen them

to be honest i didn't really like avatar. i mean it was ok but not all that great. not saying it was bad just not all that.
oh some more moveis: i, robot was quite good but a really good movie was v for vendetta. it is one of my favorite movies off all time Very Happy

its definitely worth buying/renting it. in my opinion of course i'm sure there are some people who don't like it and stuff but i loved it!
also black swan was good but very weird(its not just about ballet or anything like i thought it would be its... strange... but its well made and has good actors and everything)
saints and soldiers i liked but a lot of people who i know who watched it didn't like it
inglorious bastards(hope this does not break the no swearing rule its not a bad swear and its the name of the movie)
thats all i can think of right now but there are more

Besides obvious choices like Star Wars and Lord Of The Rings, I love Ridley Scott. Particularly Black Hawk Down.

Also The Untouchables. Great film.

i know black hawk down is a great movie. i watched it after i read the thing where someone(maybe you fox? not sure) asked there favorite movies and a lot of people said black hawk down. it had me pumped for like 2 hours when i was watching it(then for like 2 hours afterwords)

V for Vendetta is OK for me, not great, because I was around when the original comic came out. The comic series went into much more depth on the oppressive world of V and his relationship with the young woman he abducts. There are changes in the storyline between comic and movie which I wasn't happy with. Call me a purist, I guess.

So are ALL the Lord Of The Rings movies and Sherlock Holmes. I know they were previously mentioned but they are just so amazing...*tear*

V for Vendetta - Great mystery and action, love the dark subtle qualities the movie offers, keeps you guessing and wondering what V will do next.

Black Hawk Down - Amazing movie, it shows what the soldiers really go through. It's not just action that wars is about, it's about the emotions that come with it.

Saving Private Ryan - How did the soldiers feel about the war? How did they feel when getting shot at? How did they cope with losing friends and family beside them?

Saving Private Ryan is one of my favorite war movies, it shows that soldiers aren't just macho war machines, they're humans. They're scared at times, they're cocky at times, but they know what to do to get the job done. This movie and Black Hawk Down express the one thing that so few people get in this current time about war: Those men aren't out there to for themselves, they're out there for us. They aren't there to protect themselves, they're there to protect their brothers-in-arms. That's it, end of story.

I get a bit deep on this subject.......

Which Sherlock Holmes? They're all pretty good, but some are better than others. The movie from a couple years ago was great. So are the last two TV series, the latest one, still in production on British TV (a present-day Holmes with an assertive Watson who's a combat surgeon fresh from Iraq and Afghanistan - available on DVD in the USA) and the one from the 1990s with Jeremy Brett.

oh yes i forgot fight club. top movie. also i watched kingdom of heaven like 5 years ago so i don't really remember it that much but it was good. never seen any of the other ones there but maybe i'll watch them sometime Smile

I agree with most of that. Except Transformers, Fast and Furious, and SWAT. I'm kind of a cinema snob, so the testosterone fueled summer action flicks don't do anything for me. Didn't know you liked The Kingdom though. Loved that one. Jamie Foxx's best role imo

Heck yeah. I saw it on AMC one afternoon and fell in love with it. Bought it soon afterwards.

As for Transformers, I only put that one up because it was slightly better than Rise of The Fallen. The first had some semblance of a story and not just pointless explosions and slow-mo's for Megan Fox.
