The beasts in the forests are there for you to kill if you need gold, or xp. Some monsters, the large ones, will give you a buff, such as mana regen or extra damage. Some people play solely by killing the monsters in the forest early game. They are called "junglers"

Darn thought i might be the one to know what jungleing is XD But you should get the buffs defently like if ur a mana hungery champ u should go steal there blue along with getting ur own also the dragon awards 190 gold to entire team so does barren but he also give the entire team a game winning buff but even at lvl 18 ur gona need moSt of your team to kill

Didn't know what I did when I played LoL had a name. I guess I was a jungler. This would occasionally piss off my teammates. I don't know why they bitched so much, I always came running when they needed me.

^Exactly what you should do, run to your friends while in they are in trouble. The two necessities of a jungler are: The power Smite, and your first item should be wiggles lantern. Basic premise is to kill the monsters and keep at teh same level or greater of that of your enemies, and then occasionally gank when needed.

Thanks for the validation. This was back during the first attempt to get ccp into LoL, which didn't work I got the most bitching in those random match-ups with unknown partners.

The reason you have a jungler is so you have 2 players in a solo lane and someone who can surprise attack (gank) for the lanes. Solo laners level up faster because they are not sharing xp with anyone around them and can get last hits for gold a lot easier. If the jungler plays the right way he will earn relatively the same amount of gold as all the other lanes but level up at the same rate as the lane with 2 people in it.

The red and blue buff in the jungle are a very important part of the game because of the things that they do. Each of them spawn at 1:55 and respawn 5 minutes after being killed

The blue buff gives ability power and quite a bit of mana regen. So it needs to be given to someone who scales off of ap and requires a lot of mana (usually your mid)

The red buff makes your auto attacks apply a damage over time and it slow the enemy you are attacking. So give this to someone who will be chasing or auto attacking quite a bit

The jungler also takes smite which helps with jungling and is a very important spell late game when it comes to getting the last hits on baron and dragon(big guys in the river) because it does around 800-900 true damage to these creatures. Dragon gives everyone on your team 190 gold and Baron gives everyone on your team 300 gold plus a buff that regens health and mana pretty quickly
