The Sniper Rifle.

So as some of you guys know, I think that the Sniper is a noob weapon. For some of you who don't know why, it's because it's overused, it's an instant 1-hit kill from any distance (that is if you hit the person) and such. So that's why.

My thoughts on it basicially that it's overused, most people are only good with it, and it just sucks otherwise. What I mean by most people are only good with it, is that when I see someone I know who is good with a Sniper, that person usually sucks with every other weapon in the map.

So what are your guys thoughts on this weapon?

erm............ i like sniper i use it alot and i am good with other guns.............. and some people just perfer sniper like me takes alot of skill and hard with high ping i don't think its noob but i dont think complaning about noobs is noob........Ehh`!

umm the sniper is only a 1-hit wepon if you get a head shot. It takes a least 2 shots in the body to kill someone.

If you wonder why that is its because damage is different dpending on where you hit:

head-1.5x
body-1x
limbs(arms/legs)-.5x

or something like that.

ohh i never knew i just thought head was 1 shot never knew legs and arms are .5 can't you just sknin them to with the sniper couple of times i have been shot and it only took away like my shield and 3 bars

Oh yeah sniper is most definitely noob. If you camp and use the scope. SCOPE IS NOOB -this is not open to debate.
As for the part about

That is totaly wrong. Everybody who uses the sniper had to work up to it and if they are any good with it they are just as good with the other weapons. (but not the noobs who 2x the zoom on Garden and focus on the doorways *cough Bly*)

Noob weapons are defined that way because they're easy to kill with which is why the noobs go for them...
but the sniper takes a lot more skill to use...
don't try to lessen people who have worked hard to get good with the sniper.

yea becuause you have to consider the speed they are moving at and much more things also some unexperianced snipers are easy to kill because they just crouch and scope or hid behind things THAT DOES NOT WORK best to keep moving

I used to be great with a sniper but now i suck cuz i haven't played for those few months. I'm slowying gaining it back but am still not as good. But as long as am good with a blaster I can pwn you all.

Well I tried picking my nose with it but the barrel is kind of scratchy and Flash kept reaching for the trigger.

Lol, lots of discussion. What I meant was that it CAN be an instant kill for the sniper. I still think it's a noob weapon. Plus, how good I am with it has nothing to do with it ...

And if you guys don't remember, I came from an XBOX Live comunity where many things are different.

I will have to say Negative. (press V-1-6) I think that the sniper is very tactic. Is wrong that u can kill someone with only 1 shot, unless u give him a headshot or his life is lower than 100% (Correct me if i'm wrong).
The time that u have between shots is longer than a blaster so u need to have a very good aim if u want to kill someone, other wise u can get will before the next shot is ready.

Yet for some reason in my school, we don't have our own opinion. It even says somewhere when we enter that school, we're null and viod to the government. Or something like that.

I respectfully disagree with you Blast. Using the sniper properly does require a lot of skill, only because you can get a 1 shot kill from a longer distance doesn't make that weapon a noob one. With or without zooming, sniper is as equal or even harder to aim with than the other weapons. As said before, it's not an instant 1 hit kill, depends on where you hit.

Noob weapons are the ones that have a big radius of impact (you don't need to hit someone with a rocket to kill them with it, it's enough to hit the floor or a wall close by), and sniper is completely the opposite, it has the most reduced area of impact.

By your definition (1 shot kill = noob weapon), then a shotgun (of even a charged bowcaster) at close combat would be a noob weapon, since you can get a 1 kill shot with the opponent having full health, and sometimes it doesn't even have to be a headshot.

I do agree that it can give out an advantage in long range combat, but it all depends on your strategy and skill. One of the best feelings in Rep Com is to beat a skilled player that has a shotty or blaster on a close combat 1-to-1 when you have a sniper (Truly takes a lot of timing, aiming, dodging, etc). It might do more damage than a regular blaster shot, but remember that it only has 5 shots per mag, and the reload time is really long. Another disadvantage is your reduced view when zooming.

I would actually suggest you to use it more. Then, when you get used to it, maybe you can instantly 1 shot kill everyone. ; )

2 foot(Don't kNow why but it is)

Snake are you sayin you shoot players in the foot twice and it's a kill? Does it have to be the same foot for both shots? What about groin? And what about 3 shot kills?
