Survive Empty Survive

A song I wrote recently, it's got a hard rock/metal feel to it.

Have you seen that fear inside,
It’s the only thing keeping us alive.
So dark, so cold it clenches us tight,
It grabs my heart, and burns out the light.

Why, oh why doesn’t it ever end,
It try’s to break me but I will not bend.

How long do we go on,
Taking our chances where we don’t belong.
Feeling cold and dark inside,
Breaking free is what turns the tide.

The pain, it sears the heart,
And now it’s ripped us both apart.
With bloodshed and tears we’re cast away,
We look up, as night overcomes the day.

Why, oh why doesn’t it ever end,
It try’s to break me but I will not bend.

How long do we go on,
Taking our chances where we don’t belong.
Feeling cold and dark inside,
Breaking free is what turns the tide.

The darkness is trembling I feel it shake,
How much more can I last before I break,
I never wanted this darkness to live,
What part of myself do I have to give,
I want it to end to bleed it out,
I feel it inside, all I want to do is shout.

Why, oh why doesn’t it ever end,
It try’s to break me but I will not bend.

How long do we go on,
Taking our chances where we don’t belong.
Feeling cold and dark inside,
Breaking free is what turns the tide.

True story. Read this while listening to Rammstein. The sentences matched the heavy rhythms of Rosenrot very well. Good job.

Some part of me reads this song to the tune of "The Kids Aren't Alright" by The Offspring.
