Cassus wrote a poem?!
I'm not really big on poetry...so I've never really written any figured id try it and this is what i came up with
Last Vengeance
Looking down a road,
broken women,
broken children,
broken buildings,
broken lives..
Tanks rolling,
children crying,
gunfire in the distance,
explosions surrounding,
men praying...
I look out the window,
dirt and ashes,
blood and grime,
bullets and corpses,
nobody cares...
I draw closer to gunfire,
knowing I won't survive,
look to my partner,
see him sweating,
see him crying...
Surrounded by gunfire,
step out of the vehicle,
take cover by a broken wall,
fire at anything moving,
move on...
Continue forward,
look at the enemy corpses,
know they once were innocent,
know they were once human,
know they are now gone...
Advancing forward,
enemies ambushing,
we're now retreating,
see a circle rolling by,
knowing I'm going to die...
Explodes next to me,
heat waving over.
hear my partner scream,
hear his screams stop,
hear him die...
I look at my body,
half melted,
half blown off,
wonder how I'm still alive,
I crawl behind a wall..
My squad leaves,
thinking I'm dead,
me thinking I'm dead,
I scream for help,
my mouth remains silent...
Enemies advancing to my squad,
I take out a pistol and fire,
some of them dead,
the rest not caring,
I run out of ammo...
An enemy sees me,
instead of shooting he stares at me,
he heaves me onto his back,
bringing me past enemies,
bringing me to their leader...
Strapped to a chair,
slapped across the face,
leader shouting,
demanding locations,
I spit in his face...
Freed from the chair,
thrown to the floor,
pistol shoved at my head,
leader's mouth threatening,
leader's finger already performing,
I manage to reach my pocket,
found my grenade,
before I pull the pin,
I think back,
back to before...
I think about my family,
about my friends,
my childhood,
my former job,
my former life...
I say goodbye,
I shed a tear,
I pull the trigger,
I feel heat waving over,
I know one thing...
I'm just another soldier...

Woah thats long. Ermmm, good job, up to the first five stanzas, where I continued to have sleep-impaired hallucinations so I am going to sleep.
