Clan-Written Fan-Fiction - The First Story

The list goes: Sev, Frang, Den, me, Park, Vandal, repeat.

Frang heard a faint beeping from one of his packs. He immediately
stopped and opened the pack. The beeping was much louder now. He
fished around, pulling out dets and checking them. Finally he found
it. The safety slide had been nudged into the timer setting. He slid
it back. Close one. Not so much the getting blown up part, but the
getting blown up by one's own explosives.....how embarrassing. He found
a roll of utility tape and secured the loose safety slide.

Sev and Vandal walked by just as he was packing up. "Problem, Frang?" Sev asked.

"No, no," Frang lied. "Minor pack malfunction. Nothing to worry
about." He finished and caught up to them as they approached the
loading bay doors. He saw Parker and Cuyir waiting by the doors.

I listened patiently to Park's story. Quite honestly, I was merely following from example. An example that was shown by an old friend.

*Flash-back*

I walked down the halls of one of the many command centers on Coruscant. I had been assigned to a new squad, after the previous one had been wiped-out by a manufactory depot that went nuklier. I didn't know what our mission was, and I honestly didn't care. I had been to the breifing, but hardly paid attention. Suddenly, one of the other clones walked up beside me. It was a clone who was named Jurg. He was one of the clones who I grew up with. We trained together, ate together, we even pulled pranks on the Kaminoens together. He had been assigned a different squad, but transfered to the squad I was now apart of. No sooner had I realized he was next to me, and we exchanged a greeting, he asked me: "You alright? You haven't been yourself lately." I responded, in a low, sad tone, "Eh, I've just been thinking about my old squad. It's hard to believe they're all gone." Jurg nodded in understanding. He had also lost a large portion of his squad, but it was during a battle on some planet that I had forgotten the name of. He then replied, "Yeah, I know what you mean. But, you can't let it get to you. They are our brothers, and I'd go to Geonosis over and over again to stay with them. But when they die, in-duty or out, it's our duty to move on. We have a galaxy to protect, and they'd all want us to do it without greiving for them." Jurg gave me a reassuring pat on the sholder. "Just relax. Remove them from your mind, and focuse on killing whatever gets in our way." I gave a smile. Jurg was right, if I kept thinking like this, I'd just get in the way. "There now," he said, "that's better. Now, race you to the hangar!" And he took off. I looked at him for a second, a slight look of shock on my face, before I took off after him. He had picked my pocket, and I just lost a whole lot of credits.

*End flash-back*

"You want your credit back?" Park asked. I smirked, and put my helmet back on, before giving a thumbs up. "Don't worry about it. It helps to get things off your chest." The lift we were on arrived at the hangar door. We walked to it, and, seeing that nobody was there yet, I leaned against the wall and tried to get back into my nap.

I hear that we are traveling via SDD, otherwise known as standardize death device by the helpless souls who landed in one, and groan. I remember when my old squad got the pleasure of riding in one during a particularly noticeable hostage negotiation.

*Flashback*
I determined that the subjects will not be met through negotiation, and that being inserted within the confines of the building was the only way to save the innocent people. We needed transport though. Since there was a large battle going on in the middle rim, there were few available ships for transport. So few, in fact, that only a SDD wa available. If it meant saving the civilians, my entire team would believe it is worth the hell of it. After three minutes of pure terror and motion sickness, we finally landed on the roof of the house where a robbery went wrong. We know they are on the second floor but not where. There are four subjects and an unknown amount of people who need help.
I pair with my second in command, Eagle (my squad used animals for names, not rank. I was Wolf) on the Black wall. My other two boys are on the blue wall. We make simultaneous entry. It goes off just like we practiced.
I step in first and see a subject. He raises his weapon at a human-female. I fire off one clear round into his head. It is the Republic's policy to deal with anyone with a weapon the same way, with extreme prejudice.
I turn around to look at Eagle when I see him put a round through a subject I missed, who was about to shoot me from behind. I think he could guess that my expression was of gratitude and embarrassment because he shrugged at me.
The rest of the mission went off perfectly. The only shots that were fired was by my team. One round per subject. We later got recognition from the Jedi themselves for our mission.

*End of Flashback*

I sigh to myself, load the clip into my shotgun, and jump on the ship. I look at the rest of the strike team. "You too scared to get on or what?"

OOC: I don't see how. Let's launch, shall we? Sev's up next. If he doesn't launch the assault lander, I will.

I agree. I kind of wish this moved along faster, as well

OOC: Yeah! Let's get to the blowing things up, zapping droids, whacking CIS goons, and rampant mayhem!!

OOC: I agree. Wanna have a time limit for people? If they pass the time limit, then we skip them, and if they still want to be involved, they just do an uber-big post to catch up.

I like it. That way we can keep going.

One thing I do is I make sure I get email notifications for this forum. I blocked all the ones however. This way I know whenever someone replies.

OOC: Sev's turn I think. If he's been eaten by a bog monster, we'll have to wait until he carves his way out of the creature's belly. The time limit sounds fine. Let's give Sev a couple more days then proceed to launch, hyperspace, and stealth landing.

I think we should move on with this now... The last post that was on topic was

OOC: sorry, been busy lately. Even though its summer i still find little time to all but the neccissary stuff such as apps and staff. I'll post my reply in a bit, gotta catch up on what happened. XD

*Looks back to Vandal through his black non-reflective visor and nodded and goes back to cleaning his equipment quietly every once in a while twitching from his past memories and missions* Past voices: (some CIS scientist)You're not going to survive this...(a past squad mates voice) Sev! Help! Ahhhh!...(Palpatines voice) Your mission is to make sure that the rest of your team falls into an accident... *Shakes head to get out of the twilight zone.* What if it all happens again, but this time, no other survivors?

OCC:Glad I waited.....a cool twist in the story, thank's Sev. Here's what I'm working from: we leave in a captured CIS cargo ship, each of us gets an individual briefing while in flight, as the cargo ship comes in for a landing at the outpost's spaceport, we land in a stealth-enabled drop pod. That integrates the two mentions in previous posts as to our mode of travel. Each of us has a separate mission, we're all to meet up at the target command bunker. I get to blow stuff up, as to the rest of you, each gets a mission (assassination, more blowing stuff up, intel gathering, etc.). We take out the command staff, then......well, Sev might have plans for us! I'll try to get the intro to the op up later tonight.

Frang walked down the crew deck corridor fiddling with the initiator from a thermal det. The action team had boarded the ship about two hours ago. The small non-clone crew took it out of orbit and into hyperspace. The op had been made possible by the cargo ship, which in turn its possession by the Republic had been made possible by the covert op by Beta squad. They had managed to capture a CIS cargo ship intact, without the ship sending a transmission or launching a distress beacon. Its Techno Union crew had been killed out of hand. Beta had been a little miffed at the Skakoans of the Techno Union, ever since the massacre of clones on Becartkat three months previous to this. Frang mused to himself that even the Jedi might approve, since the Skakoans were half droid anyway, locked up inside their armored suits like that, not true life, not like clones or Twi'leks....or Jedi. Frang liked Jedi, but not for the touchy-feely reasons non-clones usually mentioned. "'Ooh, they're so noble, so gentle, so heroic,'" Frang whispered to himself sarcastically. Naw, they were loyal to the people around them, like clones. Frang had been on detached duty with a couple Jedi during the first year of the war, special ops stuff on CIS planets. [Deadly shock applied in five seconds], they could slice 'em up with those lightsabers. They could have left Frang behind on a couple occasions, but they always came back for him. Eventually the padawan was killed and the knight was reassigned. Frang, he disappeared down the black hole of SpecOps.

He saw Parker walking toward him. Frang shifted the hand holding the initiator behind his back.

Parker had been on more missions with Frang than the others. "What's in your hand?" he asked, knowing full well what it was.

"Nothing."

"Show me."

"No." Frang kept the initiator behind his back.

"We can keep this up all day," Parker replied. "Come on."

Frang and Parker went eye-to-eye for a moment. Frang knew he couldn't win this one. He showed Parker.

"What are you going to do with that?"

"The Navy LT made a rude comment when we came on board."

"I was there. He said, 'Watch your step.' How is that rude?"

"It's rude to me," Frang replied.

"So what were you going to do with it?"

Frang jiggled the little explosive in his hand, which made Parker more than a little nervous. "I thought he might have a surprise while using the refresher unit in his quarters."

"Put it away, Frang. You aren't going to do that. If you do, I'll have you up on charges. Then you won't be able to blow up SBDs any more. What do you like to do more, spend time in detention, or blowing up SBDs?

Frang disabled the initiator by a simple twist and put it in a belt container. "Point taken."

Parker walked away.

"You're no fun any more," Frang said after him.

The intercom requested the team to the bridge. Vandal was the last one in.

The LT looked at them. "Special final individual briefing by secure hypercom. Sev, you're first. We've transferred the feed into the bridge conference room."

Sev had a strange look when he came out. Cuyir and Denjie were smiling when they came out. Frang was fourth one in.

The flickering holoimage of Grand Admiral Tarkin stood before him.

Frang saluted.

"You are N110191, personal name 'Frang,' EOD specialist."

"Yes sir."

Your mission is infil into a CIS reseach bunker after a covert drop, destroy by explosive ordinance the security droid storage area, then to proceed to the command center of the bunker, where you and the rest of your action team will RV. You and the others are to capture the researchers and the command staff."

"Yes, sir. The detonation will put the bunker's non-droid staff into emergency mode. We know from intel this is a an evac to the commander center, the most heavily defended part of the bunker."

"The Republic command authority wishes to add a secret mission to your assignment. You are to utilize your unique talents to ensure that no CIS personnel leave the bunker alive, not even the most junior officer or low-ranking soldier."

This disturbed Frang. The Jedi would not approve. Besides, their spooky Jedi powers could bring the secrets inside anyone to the surface. "Uh, sir, wouldn't it be better to take at least a few of them prisoner. I've seen Jedi interrogators in action. They can find out every little detail of the research in the bunker."

"Can you or can you not carry out orders? This assignment comes from the highest levels of the Republic command structure. The highest levels!"

Frang saluted. "It will be done, sir."

"Good, send in the next operator."

"Yes, sir."

The others had their orders. Frang didn't ask. They'd drop earlier than they planned. Several of the team were going into the city now. The droids on the ship were programmed to rampage into the spaceport after the ship landed after the bunker was destroyed. The distraction would allow them to exfil onto the ship, which would immediately launch after their return. Frang didn't like changes, but it was from Tarken, so what was he to do? He didn't like the idea of killing valuable intel sources either, odd way to run a war. All these thoughts were in his head as the drop pod slid through the planet's atmosphere. He'd be in the bunker first, and the longest of any member of the team. The pod settled, the doors lowered. They exchanged glances, nodded to each other, and ran off in separate directions.
