Clan-Written Fan-Fiction - The First Story Empty Clan-Written Fan-Fiction - The First Story

Post by Parker Sun May 01, 2011 12:00 am

Recently Alpha Squad's main forum was clogged with the imagination of a few squad members and their literary skills. We we were role playing as if we were barricaded within a small room with a ton of zombies coming in. While this might not sound like the next Animal Farm I really enjoyed it and was hoping to make it a more clan wide thing.

So here is what we can do. We could think of a way to start off the story. For example, right now this page will be dedicated to telling the story of a few commandos who are ordered on a top secret mission to a desolate planet to locate a heavily-fortified, separatist, think-tank and steal it's secrets.

What happens to these soldiers? What do they see? What do they do? I don't know yet. But each and everyone of you can be apart of the story. It doesn't matter if you are a talented writer or not, just write! All you have to do is reply to this message and continue the story as you see fit.

I can start it off.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am cleaning my custom blaster of the usual residual waste a few thousand bolts leave after my daily regimented shooting practice at the range when I start to feel heavy rain drops fall down on my shoulder plates. I look up to see green clouds forming on the edge of our compound. I think that this is not a good day to be outside. I slip my blaster over my should, pick up the extra ammo, and head back into the closest door to the common room areas of the barracks. Right as I get inside I am approached by a messenger boy. He informs me that I am being called in and need to go to War Room C. I grumble that I it isn't a good day to be inside either and trot over to my room in the Alpha Squad barracks. I use my encoded dog tags to open the weapon create, I slide my blaster off my shoulder, remove the ammo, set the safety on, and put it in its rightful place. I lock my locker up and head off to the room. When I pass through the encrypted protection on the door, I open it and see. . .

Reply if you want to be in War Room C and be apart of our adventure Very Happy

Well, it is rather cantina-y. It's not so much a story as a RPG.. As is most everything else in Cantina.

Keep it here. This is what's called a round-robin story, with each writer contributing a little. This has a very long literary history, even major authors have engaged in round-robin story cycles. On a personal note, I once did this as a kid. We'd write a bit and mail it to the next writer in the little group. It's a lot of fun, but there should be a couple ground rules. We only had a couple:

1. No killing off the major characters.
2. No putting the major characters into impossible situations or in a dead-end storyline (locking ppl up in rooms with no way out, crap like that).

Other than that, we went nuts. We stopped when it got up to like a hundred pages and was too expensive to mail around.

We gonna do this thing?

This is good timing, actually.... I was apart of an RPG site, and it recently crashed due to a lack of Moderaters, Admins, ect, ect. I was starting to miss it. Razz Frang's right though, we should have some basic rules for something like this. *Shrug* No killing-off major characters is definately a good one. Don't wanna go killing off Darth Vader or Ulic-quel Droma, now do we? Razz

Ah... It had to rain now, of all times... *I had been running around the compound getting some exercise. It was a nice clear day earlier, now a storm's coming in. Figuring that I should stop, and restart once the rain subsided, I headed for the barracks. As I enter, I receive a message to go to War Room C. Grumbling that I really had no excuse not to go, I walked to the room. I enter just in time to hear Denjie asking where everybody else was* Well, I'm right here, actually. *I said with a slight smile. I nod to both Denjie and Parker, then, after a quick look around, I ask* What are we here for, exactly? And is there anybody else in this? I didn't get any information, only that I was to come here as soon as I could.

I've always found it peaceful and way to clear my head by walking through the quite surroundings of the woods. *My comlink buzzes in my ear as I receive a message. Thankfully, I'm on the latter half of my run. The barracks are close in sight. I change into dry clothes and pick up my DC-17 Pistol that I always carry. I make my way through the compound to the War Room, noticing how few people I see walking around.*

*I walk into War Room C as instructed to see everyone standing around the table.* Reporting in sir. Waiting to receive orders.

(I think another rule should be limiting new writers. It wouldn't make any sense if we start our attack mission with eight people and end with twelve. So maybe give everyone till May 8th? Then close it off and wait till the next rotation comes around?)
(The only other rule I can think of is that I (for one) would like to keep this pretty realistic. Sure it is an RPG and a Sci-fi thing, but that still can be true to being a Republic Commando, and not like "Today, I nuked everyone. The end.")
(What do you guys think about those two things?)

*I nod towards the other officers who have entered the room after me. I take one last glimpse at the television monitors and make some observations.*

Seems to me like we have a heavy Alpha presence. The rest of the squads going to join in the fun? I also see that Cuyir is the least ranked at Sergeant, so I am guessing this is top secret, and of utmost importance? Who will be leading this Op?

That's fine. When I did this as a kid, it was restricted to the people on the mailing list, so a cut-off on who's in the thread sounds reasonable. Besides, they can start another thread.

Frang was grumpy, he was always a little grumpy. He had been decanted from his pod at the same time as his other pod brothers, but the dispenser for the growth accelerator compound had malfunctioned, so his body was physically older than the others. Mostly it was his gray hair. It was a sore point with him that their Jedi commanders always seemed to aggravate. They always wanted to put him into a reserve unit. No way he was going to stand for that. Maybe he let his irritation show a little in combat. He had more scars than anyone present in the War Room, and more SBD kills. He leaned back in his chair. "I haven't trashed a clanker in days. Where are we headed now and how soon can we get there?"

Post by Parker Mon May 02, 2011 7:38 pm

(I am really impatient for this to start so could we move the dead line up from a week to like Wednesday? I will publicly announce it on all the squad pages just to have no guilty.
In the mean time everyone should discuss their character, like Frang did.)

Parker is a man that has seen his fair share of battles. He was the Squad Leader in Sierra Squad. Against all programed traits, he started to feel an intense devotion to everyone around him. This included the very people whom his squad faced with executing. The only reason why he was not deactivated was that he possesses invaluable skills in psychology and understand human emotions. Unfortunately for his squad, this meant they were relocated to Coruscant for round-the-clock hostage rescue. While Parker was not saving civilians he became an expert in CQC and Urban Warfare.

After a particularly bloody spree killing in a republic embassy. Sierra squad was called in to aid Oscar squad, who was already on the scene. After negotiations had failed it was decided that Sierra would enter the building from the roof, Oscar from the basement. As they propelled down his rappel system would jam taking precious seconds. As he was suspended the rest of his team successful entered through the north windows. Where the subject had planted anti-personal mines. By the time Parker would get down to see what happened with the explosion his team lay in ruin and Oscar had already neutralized the subjects.

Three weeks later when Parker was once again allowed to participate in active duty he would see an opening in CCP's Alpha Squad. He applied for the position at the ground level. Eventually he would be the second in command, under Denjie. Currently Parker's position is command of all of Alpha's non-commando personal. This is specifically the security clones as well as spies in Alpha's side of things.

Clan-Written Fan-Fiction - The First Story Empty Re: Clan-Written Fan-Fiction - The First Story

Post by Denjie Mon May 02, 2011 8:13 pm

Name is Denjie. I was part of Echo squad, nobody heard of us much. We were the loners of the clones. We functioned as a squad under command, but deep down, we thought independently and rarely asked for opinions from our brothers. Of the four of us, I was the quietest. I didn't see the need to speak unless it something urgent or important. Most of the clones thought I was defective, maybe I was, but I was [Deadly shock applied in five seconds] good at what I did.

You might ask why I said I was part of Echo Squad, well they're gone. Been gone, I remember it clearly. We were on a Spec Ops Assignment when we got hit hard by separatists. We tried to break through only to have on brother shot down with AA. There was nothing left to identify him, so we kept moving. I lost my second brother when he yelled out something about mines, that was the last thing I saw of him before he triggered on, blowing him to pieces. It was just the two of us now, we advanced cautiously and carefully. None of it did a [Deadly shock applied in five seconds] bit of good though. We got ambushed again and my last brother riddled with bullets. All I had to do was glance at him and I knew he was shot to hell. All I thought about then was killing off the b******* that did this.

All that was a long ago though, I'm still quiet. But I now hold cold hard feelings about combat and I don't take soft talk from anybody. I went ARC for a year before re-joining the CC ranks. I joined up with CCP and was Assigned to Alpha Squad, I would eventually become Squad Leader. I've been Squad Leader for a little over two years now. I climbed up through the ranks and am now a Major, I'm one of those people who doesn't care as much about ranks and positions and much as I care about your attitude and how well you fight.

I'm cold, I'm am quiet, I am deadly. Don't piss me off or there'll be hell. I know how to fight and I do it [Deadly shock applied in five seconds] well. On a side not, there are times when I can be content and easy going. I try to show this side more often around the boys. But when things get tight, I'll snap back to the cold, hard killer I am deep inside.

Clan-Written Fan-Fiction - The First Story Empty Re: Clan-Written Fan-Fiction - The First Story

Post by Cuyir Mon May 02, 2011 8:53 pm

((Park... I just want to say it now... You would make a heck of a sales-man. Razz ))

Cuyir never was a normal clone. Even while he was being grown in his tube he always managed to 'cause some kind of trouble, whether it be almost tipping the dang thing over or, in some way, cracking the glass, he made sure to give the cloners a tough time. When he was finally grown to be out of the tube phase, his personality was something that clearly made him odd. He was obedient when he had to be, lazy when he could be, and he over-all loved to pull pranks. Because of this, the Kaminoens looking over him often thought of just removing him. But, because of his unnatural ability to learn more then most of the other clones, they decided against it.

During his learning days, he quickly made himself known among all the clones, even those outside of his pod. Despite him not being like the other clones in terms of personality, his skills that he learned detinguished him as being, if only slightly, better then most of the clones. He was also slightly popular with the clones as well, as his various pranks would bring a chuckle from more then one of the clones that saw what he had done.

When his days at the academy were over, he was assigned to a small battalion of clones that were assigned to prevent the assassinations of multiple senators. Not the standard anti-assassination either. These missions often involved large amounts of mercenaries and trained professionals going after one or a group of men. During his last mission, his entire battalion, including his commanding officer on the mission, were all killed when a depot that they were escorting a senator from exploded. He and the senator, as the senator had not yet arrived, were the only survivors. After, he successfully escorted the senator to the high security apartment zones, during which he had to fend off multiple assassins, including an early model of the JK-14.

After the mission, and after a well deserved break period, he was re-assigned to a special ops team that was to be sent to investigate a desturbance on Bogden's moon, Kohlma, the same moon where Jango Fett defeated Komari Vosa. Upon arriving, the group quickly discovers that a group of space explorers accidentaly triggered a revival of several of the Bando Gora. After several battles, the explorers, who had been possessed by the Bando Gora, were defeated. During the escape, however, most of his team were killed, and Cuyir had to cover the rest of the team as they made their way to the ship. After finally making it to the ship, they took off and headed to the closest Republic ship in that area. After about two months spent recovering in the hospital, Cuyir saw an opening for Alpha squad, and asked for a transfer to it, which was accepted shortly after.

EDIT: ((Wow... Okay... Guess I do still have some RP'er left in me... Didn't think I typed that much. Shocked ))

Imma join so as not to feel left out of the action.
*walks into room from just waking up* "Reporting for duty SIR!"
(is this where I put my history? Well I'll put it here anyway)
I've been lots of places doing lots of things. Been in a squad, people called us psychos the name fit. We were on a mission in the Crystophsis system on one of the moons. Got stranded, no back-up. We were in a firefight for days. My brothers and I fought hard but were hit harder. A couple died from the fighting, anti-infantry rounds. One of us died a terrible death. There was a lull in the fighting at one point, he had taken his helmet off to eat...Thats when the chemical warefare began. Several gas bombs landed all around us they exploded before he could get his helmet back on. He lingered around for a couple days his body slowly swelling and changing colors. He died on day three. My squad mates were taken from me. I was completely alone. Except for the army that surrounded me. I had to leave otherwise I'd be dead soon. I was known in my squad as one who could move about unnoticed. I got past the opposing army by moving from tree to tree. It was long tedious work. I finally made it to their compound where I "borrowed" a ship. I thought I was free but as I flew out into space I got radioed by their command ship. They wanted to know who I was and why was I going out into hyperspace. I couldn't respond because they would know immediately I wasn't one of them. I continued to fly past them, they shot at me my ship was beyond repair and I couldn't fly anywhere. They sent a ship to get me I jumped out of the ship knowing that because of my suit of armor I could survive for twenty minutes max. I wa at about minute 17 when a scavenger ship came by and picked me up. They wanted my suit but they didn't know I was still alive I traveled with them for a couple days before I was able to get a ship back here Im a joker I'll try to lighten a bad situation with a joke. I am a ninja of the day and night

*Walks out of a dark corner* So, whats the new mission?

Sev: Part of the top-secret Black Ops clone project that handled the dirty work such as assassination, sabatuer, and other sly and sneaky tricks for the republic. The Black Ops clones work similar to ARC troopers, but are never seen unless you're about to die. Very few past mission dtails remain about him, but he's succeded in every mission and is the last of the Black Ops group and has been moved into the ARC trooper/clone commando groups instead.

Clan-Written Fan-Fiction - The First Story Empty Re: Clan-Written Fan-Fiction - The First Story

Post by Parker Wed May 04, 2011 8:20 pm

(It is now Wednesday night, I pronounced this specific mission closed. Make another one or be patient if you think you are missing out)

*I take a seat in the leather chair right next to Denjie and right as I am about to make a friendly-complaint about having Zeta squad intoxicating our operation when the television screen turns on. It is just a visual representation of the flux in noise that the person speaking is making. I smile grimly knowing that this means that the mission is top secret, if we are to maintain anonymity with our handler.*

Good Evening Troops. You are all in this room now because of you incredible dedication to the republic and for your unmatched skills within the clone ranks. Each of you posses something that even your other clones don't; empathy, stealth, toughness, as well as numerous others. We have a very dangerous mission for you and sadly, even if you succeed, no one will ever no it happened.

*I look over to Vandal, the newest member to our ranks, try to see past the mask that all clones are prone to wearing. Not the physical one, but the detached state of anxiety, doubt, and fear, to see how he might be doing. He looks as sturdy as anyone else here. Maybe I am just wrong about us, maybe I am the only one who gets nervous when I have to make a decision that jeopardizes the lives of my men. My mind snaps back to the mission at hand.*

. . . Once you know that valuable piece of information you understand why it is so important for us to win this battle.

*Oh [Say hello!] Parker. Now you've done it*

Here is what we know. Your objective is located on this small moon. In fact, it is so small that the republic has not yet categorized it by name. For our purposes we will call it Planet X. You will be dropped off in sector nine by three separate gunships, this is approximately fifteen clicks away from the outpost. We can get you so close because the moon is known to have large forest regions, including trees up to two hundred feet tall. The good news is that you are covered. The bad news is that we will not be making a landing. You will be High Altitude Low Opening jumping. Most likely you will get caught in the trees as you fall down, so you will have to cut yourself loose and climb down the rest of the way.

*These missions keep getting more and more intense... and crazy.*

Once there you will be heading north and hitting the outer defenses of fort. We do not know the building layout or what forces you will be neutralizing.

*Of course not.*

You will be leaving in at 2100 hours.

*I check my watch. One hour. Great...*

You may take whatever ordinance you wish. Make sure you hit the armory on the way out and stock up on ammunition because we will not be making a supply drop once you are on surface. It will take us two days of hyperspace travel in order for you to get there. To recap: Get in, neutralize the enemy, hack the system, steal the information, blow the camp, and get to 90 degrees north- 70 degrees West in order for pick up. We will make the pick up 48 hours after drop off time. If you are not at the rendezvous then we have our ships leave to fight in another sector. We will leave it up to you once you arrive on scene to determine what teams you will break up into and who will do what with who. One last thing, this is classified level black.

*I blink. Black? That is the highest level I know of. I thought white was the highest. Sure, I had always heard the rumors that there was a black level but no one talked about it without a lot of drinks at the cantina.*

Because it is black you will not be talking about this with anyone. The second you leave this room you have permission to get your armor and weapons and report to the departing platform. Nothing else. Any chatter to others, whether a civilian janitor or a clone guard it doesn't matter, we will be forced to imprison them for the rest of their life in the name of secrecy. Good luck with your mission CCP's. Happy hunting.

*I sit in the room for a few seconds, shocked. The room is eerily quiet and when the silence is broken. It was not me to do so.*

*Cutting through the silence I speak out* You heard him guys, we're pretty much goin Black Ops on this one. *Turns to Sev* We'll need any advice or info you have in this area. *turns to the rest of the group* You heard what he said, no one talks to ANYONE except for those in this room. From now on you'll travel in pairs or groups of 3 to make sure no one slips up. Be back here in an hour geared up and ready for what ever the hell is thrown at us. Understood?

Clan-Written Fan-Fiction - The First Story Empty Re: Clan-Written Fan-Fiction - The First Story

*Thankful that someone else broke the silence. I grow so more confidence in my actions*

Understood sir. Should we make off to our respective rooms to retrieve our weapons and ammunition as well as any other loose ends? I will meet outside your room at 2045 hours. Then we should proceed to the shipping area?

*As I wait for confirmation, I turn and look at the other alphas*

Other Alphas need to go as one collective body back to the barracks and collect your supplies as well. This will be big guys so don't your extra supplies. That includes your zip cuffs. We never know when a civilian sees us and we will need to detain them for the duration of our trip. Don't be late. It would be a shame to loose the extra firepower. Understood?

(I took the liberty of starting off this story, mostly because I started this page. Hopefully no one is offended and I will be happy to let someone else set up the next chapter, once we are done with this one Very Happy)

"Be cheerful, my brothers," Frang said. "It's a low grav world, so if your chute doesn't open and your jetpack fails, your body will bounce really high after you hit the ground." He smiled. "You'll still be dead, but be assured that all the low grav flopping around your body will do will be quite . . . artistic. If this weren't a black op, I'd take along a holocamera to catch the moment." He laughed before getting serious. "My loadout will be the Golan Arms CR-1 blaster cannon, DC-15s pistol, double ammo canisters, and double complement of dets, ECs, and concussion nades. Four det packs, too. Two breach charges. You never know when we'll need to blow something up."

This was the time to work out any special gear. It wasn't a surprise that Frang would choose a close combat weapon. Being also a demo man, he'd always carry det packs and standard demo tools. The rest were a multi-talented crew, he was curious at how they'd work out the sniper and entry teams.
